Over the last couple of weeks, you’ve likely heard about the tragic and senseless death of Tyre Nichols, who was a FedEx Supply Chain team member at one of our Memphis warehouses. We are shocked and saddened, and like you, want answers surrounding the circumstances that led to his death. We continue to be in touch with Tyre’s family, send his loved ones our deepest sympathies, and provide support resources to our FedEx colleagues during this incredibly difficult time.
The recently released video revealing the confrontation and actions of the officers is deeply troubling. We grieve with the broader community both here in Memphis and beyond as we grapple with this tragedy. Memphis is our hometown, and we are committed to helping it be better. There is absolutely no place for this kind of behavior anywhere.
