Day of Service kicks in with the theme ‘Cleanliness Everywhere’
Dalmia Bharat Group (BSE Code: 533309|NSE Symbol: DALMIABHA), a pioneer in cement manufacturing in India celebrated its Founder’s Day on December 11, commemorating the birth anniversary of the company’s founder, late Shri Jaidayal Dalmia ji. Every year The Founder’s Day celebration has a theme associated to it and this year’s theme was – Cleanliness Everywhere.
Dalmia Bharat Group’s “Cleanliness Everywhere” initiative aims to educate employees on the need for individual action to conserve our environment and keep it clean. As part of this drive, 6,000 employees across 24 plant locations participated in workshops conducted in association with various institutions. These forums educated attendees on effective utilization of various waste materials and the concept of “reduce, reuse, recycle and recover”.
Speaking on the occasion, Puneet Dalmia, MD, Dalmia Bharat Group said, “The birth anniversary of our Founding Father Shri Jaidayal Dalmia ji, serves as a poignant reminder of his life’s work and mission. He inspired us to greater heights, dared us to dream and achieve through simplicity, honesty and selfless service. In line with his vision of being a catalyst of transformation, this year, we’re taking a step towards helping our employees make environmentally responsible choices by educating them about waste management and keeping the environment clean.”
The workshops will educate employees and promote environment-friendly products. Appropriate measures will be undertaken to minimise the use of plastic by switching to eco-friendly alternatives wherever possible. Employees at select locations will also be part of a Clean Drive which will cover areas in and around the plant locations.
