Reiterating its commitment to the local community, Dalmia Bharat Group Foundation (DBGF) handed over 50 solar lanterns to underprivileged women from Kovandakurichi and Venkatachalapuram villages on Saturday, February 22. The initiative is part of DBGF’s larger goal to promote the use of solar lanterns and distribute a minimum of 200 lanterns in its five target villages in Pullambadi block, Tiruchirapalli district. Village Panchayat Presidents, elders and DCBL representatives were present to grace the occasion and hand over the lanterns. Going a step further, to ensure after sales service, DBGF has also trained a team of local youth on the repair and maintenance of the solar lanterns.
