Fortune and its partner, market research and data company Statista, reviewed more than 15,000 eligible companies to create the list. Each eligible company was measured against three pillars: product innovation, process innovation and innovation culture.
- Product innovation encompasses product and service design and its usability and uniqueness, as well as innovations in research and development.
- Process innovation evaluates innovation in sourcing and production, marketing, sales and support.
- Innovation culture is measured by the extent to which a company internally fosters a spirit of entrepreneurship and creativity.
Earlier this year, Fortune spotlighted Johnson & Johnson as one of its World’s Most Admired Companies, taking the #1 spot in the Pharmaceutical category.
