NALCO Observes Vigilance Awareness Week

Bhubaneswar, 26/10/2015: National Aluminium Company (NALCO) joined the Nation in observing Vigilance Awareness Week in its sites and offices. This year, the week is being celebrated from October 26 to October 31, with the theme ‘Preventive Vigilance as a tool of Good Governance.’
Inaugurating the week-long programme at the Corporate Office, today, Shri T.K. Chand, CMD, along with Shri N.R. Mohanty, Director (P&T) and Shri P.K. Mohanty, IAS, Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO), administered the pledge among the employees in three different languages. The message given by Chief Vigilance Commissioner was also read out to the employees on the occasion. A seminar based on this year’s theme was also organized on the occasion.
Shri N. Santosh Hegde, Former Justice, Supreme Court of India and Shri Joginder Singh, Former, Director, CBI graced the occasion as the chief guest and chief speaker respectively. While chief speaker Shri Singh shared his experience on fighting against corruption through preventive vigilance, chief guest Shri Hegde stressed that every individual should adhere to humanity to curb corruption. Presiding over the seminar, Shri T.K. Chand, CMD underscored preventive vigilance as a promoter of good governance and stressed on the value system and organizational culture to strengthen the vigilance mechanism. Shri P.K. Mohanty, CVO delivered the welcome address, while Shri D.R. Pal, AGM (Vigilance) proposed the vote of thanks.
